Stephen Challinor founded his first Illinois CPA firm in the 1980s, founding Accounting & Valuation Services Ltd encompassing tax, accounting, and business valuation. Over decades of practice, he recognized where his clients needed him most: tax and accounting. He deliberately focused there, built a second firm around those core strengths, and never looked back.
The result is a practice defined by depth, not breadth. Stephen has navigated every major shift in the tax code since the Reagan era, including the Tax Reform Act of 1986, the ACA's business implications, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, and everything since. His clients don't have to keep up because he does it for them.
